Barkley Square and KSR Pet Care are teaming up to help Northern Virginia families and pets struggling financially with COVID-19. Upload a photo of your pet and both Barkley Square and KSR Pet Care will donate $1 each to Share of McLean, a 501(c)(3) organization, dedicated to providing emergency assistance since 1969 in McLean and nearby areas of Northern Virginia.
"This year McLean Share is helping the local authorities with emergency COVID-19 assistance. While Fairfax County social workers continue to work up every case where a request exceeds a nominal amount, McLean Share has been a direct resource in making financial contributions. It’s a great cause!” says Karen Rosenberg, Owner at KSR Pet Care.
Not only will this program create togetherness through participation in a common, local cause but it will help citizens who are in financial need, without a job or ill due to COVID-19 in the best possible way.
“Pets are the center of our business but pets also play a crucial role in the joy and happiness of families, our clients,” says Kristina Robertson of Barkley Square. “With this campaign we want to prevent pets to become victims of the COVID-19 pandemic as well as help their owners. Families are suffering here and now because of loss of income, loss of life or illness. As much as we want to help our community, we also want our donation of emergency funds to help pets stay healthy and well-fed with their families.”
How can you participate in the Pet Train? You can help the campaign not by donating money, but photos. Upload up to 3 photos of different pets using the form below. Each photo upload will be matched with a $2.00 donation to Share of McLean. The photos must be a clear, not blurry, head shot of your pet to be accepted. You can view the photos received on Flickr.
